Real names in Second Life
Published by Rob Flickenger October 21st, 2006 in Second LifeLooks like real last names are coming to Second Life. Finally.
According to CNET:
…the company has decided, CNET News.com has learned, to charge individuals who want a real last name a $100 setup fee and a $50-a-year maintenance fee. Companies that want their corporate name can have unlimited accounts for a $1,000 setup fee and $500 a year.
Is it worth it? I say definitely, considering it’s 2006. Especially if the game is already paying for itself through sales of, say, sushi and living koi. If it were two years from now, we’ll probably all be using Metaverse (or some such thing…)
