December 18, 2006: The WNDW production team is pleased to announce the release of “ReÌseaux sans fil dans les pays en deÌveloppement”, the French translation of “Wireless Networking in the Developing World”. This work is available thanks to the tireless effort of individuals from all over the world. The French edition is one of several translations planned for release in the near future.
The book covers topics from basic radio physics and network design to equipment and troubleshooting. It was written and reviewed by a team of experts in the field of long distance wireless networking in urban, rural, and remote areas. The book is intended to be a comprehensive resource for technologists in the developing world, providing the information that they need to build real networks. By bringing this knowledge to the outer edges of the Internet, we hope to help jumpstart the construction of vital network infrastructure.
The book is available under a Creative Commons license, meaning that it is free to download, print and modify, even for a profit, as long as proper credit is given and any modifications or copies made are shared under the same terms. It is available for download in PDF and HTML format from http://wndw.net/. Printed and bound copies are also available for the cost of printing.
