Ouverture Facile

Ouverture Facile is a flash-based puzzle game recently translated from French. It totally 0wnz. After three nights of work, I’ve got 49.5MB of temporary files and I’m still only up to level 55. In my quest to solve the puzzles so far, I’ve used Google, a calculator, Babel Fish, Wikipedia, Photoshop, a hex editor, a flash decompiler, a sound recorder, DTMF decoding, and razor blades. Patience and careful observation of everything have been most useful, though.
It’s cute up to level 8 or so. Then things start getting interesting at about level 21. Frustration started kicking in (for me) at roughly level 28. By 30, the insanity really begins, and it’s no longer a puzzle game so much as a test of will and cunning, punctuated by occasional hair pulling and nasty name-calling.
And as far as I can tell, I’m only about halfway through it. I highly recommend giving it a spin if you enjoy lateral thinking puzzles and you’ve got a lot of time to kill…
